Auchentoshan Classic

Auchentoshan Classic / Bourbon Oak Cask

Founded by Irish refugees in 1825 on the outskirts of Glasgow, Auchentoshan is one of the last active distilleries in the Lowlands. In common with other Lowland (and Irish) whiskies, Auchentoshan malt whisky is distilled three times (as opposed to most Scottish malt whisky, which is distilled twice). This triple-distillation has the effect of softening the flavour and body of the end product.

The Classic is soft, rich and creamy with a pale gold appearance. It has a rich vanilla and coconut smell with a hint of green apple and a tang of citrus zest. To taste it has a sweet vanilla cream, fresh green apple skin and a little mint. It has a wonderful fresh floral zesty finish.

Balvenie

Balvenie Doublewood 12 Years

The Balvenie Double Wood is a 12 year old single malt scotch whisky which gains its destinctive character from maturing in two woods. Over the 12 year period both an American oak whisky cask and a Spanish oak sherry cask are used. The traditional cask previously used to hold bourbon softens and adds character. The sherry cask brings depth and fullness of flavour.
